What is a sectional barge?+
A sectional barge is a modular steel barge in standard widths and lengths that pins together with other sections to form whatever deck size your project needs. Sentinel sectional barges use a pin-flange locking system.

What is the deckload of a Sentinel barge?+
Standard Barge: 36,000 lb evenly distributed. Heavy Duty: 58 tons per 41′4″ section with 1 ft freeboard. Back Lake: 20.3 tons per 20′ section with 1 ft freeboard.

The Pin System

Direct answers about heavy deck barges, charter terms, and global delivery.

How are Sentinel barges connected?+
Through a pin-flange locking system — precision-machined double-headed pins in flanged sleeves welded to each section's perimeter. No bolts, no threads, no corrosion failure.
Will the pins seize after a season in the water?+
No. Because there are no threads, there is nothing to corrode together. Pins lift out cleanly even after years in salt or fresh water.
