About
Built in Canada.
Floating worldwide.
Sentinel Heavy Barges fabricates modular sectional steel barges for the marine construction industry. Over 900 of our barges are floating across Canada and the United States — and the count rises every quarter.
The marine construction industry runs on platforms — barges that hold cranes, hammers, dredges, and crews steady on water. We started Sentinel because the platforms available to contractors were either too small, too heavy to mobilize, or built with bolted connections that seized after one season in salt water.
We worked with naval architects and Transport Canada to engineer a sectional barge that pins together — fast, repeatedly, without corrosion failure — and built a fabrication shop around CSA-grade steel and robotic welding to deliver consistent quality at scale.
Today, Sentinel barges work on bridge piers in the Maritimes, dredge platforms in the Great Lakes, pile-driving floats on the Pacific coast, and remote back-country lakes that no permit-truck can reach.
