Barge Lineup FAQ
Direct answers about heavy deck barges, charter terms, and global delivery.
- If you're doing general marine contractor work — bridge, piling, dredging — start with the Standard Barge. If your job involves heavy cranes or choppy water, choose the Heavy Duty Crane Barge for its 7′ depth. For remote lakes accessed by truck, the Back Lake Barge stacks two-high without permits.
- Yes. All Sentinel barges use the same pin-flange connection, so you can combine Standard and Heavy Duty sections in the same configuration. Back Lake barges have a different width and pin to one another.
- It depends on the crane weight and the water conditions. As a rule of thumb, a 60-ton crawler crane typically needs four Heavy Duty sections. We size every job — call us with your crane spec sheet and we'll confirm.
