The Bay-Delta system covers thousands of miles of channels, sloughs, and rivers — and almost every mile of it is regulated by some combination of the US Army Corps of Engineers, the California State Water Resources Control Board, the Bay Conservation and Development Commission, and a half-dozen other agencies. Maintenance dredging, levee rehabilitation, fish-passage infrastructure, and shoreline-protection work all run continuously, all under environmental scrutiny.

For Bay Area marine contractors — the Lind Marines, the Manson Constructions, the regional dredge and pile-driving outfits — sectional steel is the most flexible answer to a workload that ranges from deep San Francisco Bay channels to the shallowest Delta sloughs. Couple sections wide for a Bay Bridge maintenance job; pin them narrow and shallow for a Delta levee repair. Same fleet, completely different deployments.

Sentinel ships sections to the Bay Area by rail and truck — typically to a Stockton or Oakland staging yard, then onward by water to the project site. We coordinate cross-border logistics through our standard freight network and have supplied California marine contractors directly.
